  • 1 gallon: about 5.13 lb sugar + 0.61 gal water
  • 2 gallons: about 10.25 lb sugar + 1.23 gal water
  • 5 gallons: about 25.63 lb sugar + 3.07 gal water
2:1 syrup
  • 1 gallon: about 7.38 lb sugar + 0.44 gal water
  • 2 gallons: about 14.76 lb sugar + 0.88 gal water
  • 5 gallons: about 36.90 lb sugar + 2.21 gal water
Beginner tip
  • 1:1 syrup is often used when building up colonies or encouraging comb drawing.
  • 2:1 syrup is thicker and is often used when heavier feeding is desired, typically going into winter.
